Living on Old Hickory Lake

Old Hickory Lake is a Corps of Engineers lake on the Cumberland River, and it is the reason a lot of people choose Sumner County. Hendersonville wraps around more of the coves. Gallatin touches the upper lake, including communities such as Fairvue. Castalian Springs and the eastern roads see the water in a different way.

A listing that says "lake" can mean a dock, a deeded slip, a view across a road, or a community ramp you share with the neighborhood. Those are different purchases. Ask who owns the dock, what the Corps rules allow, and what the HOA maintains.

Insurance and flood questions belong in the same conversation as the view. So does the drive from the cove to the grocery store in January. Beautiful photos do not show that.

Denise walks lake buyers through Hendersonville areas such as Sanders Ferry and Indian Lake, then compares them with Gallatin if the upper lake is a better fit. Current listings will appear in the search once IDX Broker is connected. Until then, call and she will set up the right search.
